Atlantic Orient Canada Inc participates in this year’s
Renewable Realities Conference in Orkney, Scotland.

Orkney, in northern Scotland, has some of the greatest resources of wind, wave and tidal energy available within Europe and has an impressive record of research and testing of renewable energy technologies.   The Renewable Realities Conference, in its second year, provides an international forum for renewable energy experts, key decision makers and communities.

Atlantic Orient Canada was invited to participate in the conference with partial funding provided by the Northern Isles Highlands & Islands Enterprise.  As an exhibitor with Brian J. Rendall Electric, the Atlantic Orient Canada booth attracted a great deal of attention with a full size wind turbine generator on display.

A technical presentation was given jointly by Paul Pynn, an engineer with Atlantic Orient Canada and Dr. Colin Anderson, of NOI, Scotland, manufacturer of the wind turbine’s blades.  “We were glad to have the opportunity to participate and bring along an actual wind turbine” says Mr. Pynn,  “People always appreciate being able to put their hands on a real turbine.”

Community centers around the various islands of northern Scotland have expressed interest in installing AOC15/50 wind turbines.
